The World According to 2nd Graders

So my kids had to do a project a couple of weeks ago comparing their community with a community around the world.  They had to talk about things like what we eat, how we dress, what are homes and schools are like, and activities we do.  So without further ado, here is what the world is like, according to 2nd graders:

  • In Australia, they wear paint on themselves and the men only wear underwear (only the men thought, the women don't... for obvious reasons.)
  • In Russia, they live in houses made of straw and sticks, and they have tiny schools.
  • In the USA, we eat donuts, pizza, sausage, popsicles, hamburgers, and pancakes.
  • Vietnam people wear cool hats and ride bulls.
  • In Spain, they eat lemons.
  • They like a hundred kinds of sausages in Germany and the kids have to take food and tools to school.
  • In Japan, they don't have doorknobs, only sliding doors.
  • And in Canada, they eat butter tarts.
Yup, that sounds about right.
